Tokyo, January 30 (Xinhua) The Japan International Science and Technology Consortium (HUAYI) announced the award-winning list for the 2018 "Japan International Prize" in Tokyo 30th, and 3 scientists such as lithium-ion battery inventor Khino.
In this year's "Japan International Award", the "resource, energy, environment and social Infrastructure" award was awarded to Khino, the inventor of lithium-ion batteries. Khino, a 70-year-old honorary researcher at Asahi, Japan, is also a professor at the University of Japan. He first invented a practical lithium-ion battery in 1985, and now lithium-ion batteries have been widely used in mobile phones, cameras, computers, electric cars and other fields.
The other two winners are from the "Medicine and pharmacy" field, Max Coux Cooper of the Emory University School of Medicine, and Jacques Miller of the Australian Institute of Walter and Eliza Holl Medicine. They were awarded prizes for their important contributions in the field of immunology related to B lymphocytes and T lymphocytes.
"Japan International Award" by the Japan International Science and Technology Consortium established in 1983, the first award in 1985, the scope of the selection covers almost all areas of science and technology, each year to two of the outstanding scientists in the field of recognition. Bonuses in each area are 50 million yen (about 2.9 million yuan). So far, 10 "Japan International Award" winners have won the Nobel Prize.
